Bing won the Microsoft market share of Google

For weeks bing was released, Bing begins to increase its number of users, which is still low. The new search engine for Bing Microsoft gained market share in United States in its first month in operation, but still falls short of its dominant rival Google, according to data made public Wednesday. Bing, released on June 3 but available for some users a few days earlier, won 8.23 percent of Internet searches in United States in June, from 7.81 percent of the searches showed that just before Microsoft its launch and 7.21 percent in April, said signature data StatCounter internet.

Google lost share to fall slightly to 78.48 percent from 78.72 percent before Bing. Yahoo, the permanent number two market, jumped to 11.04 percent from 10.99 percent. Bing was the participation of a maximum in the first week of June to reach 9.21 percent, but fell in the two weeks before they are placed in the 8.45 percent in the last week of June.

The results could give encouragement to Microsoft, which is making a major investment in its online services business deficit and refuses to cede the market to Google. “At first glance, an increase of 1 percent in market share does not seem to be a huge return on investment that Microsoft has in Bing, but the underlying trend appears positive,” said the CEO of StatCounter, Adohan Cullen, in a statement.

The largest software company in the world could still forge a partnership with Yahoo for online searches to become a credible competitor, but rumors of such an agreement have been silenced. StatCounter, based in Dublin, said that their data are based on 4,000 million downloads of pages crawled per month through a network of websites. Other market research firms like comScore did not provide figures on the share of Bing until mid-July.
