World Study Founded on Owners’ Expertise

When Margarita B. Tonkinson and Steve J. Lettieri were downsized from their jobs at the University of Miami’s international programs office, it took them three months to get back on their feet. But once they did, they soared, literally, into one of the most successful private Latin American study abroad programs available called World Study.

Artist Finds Success as Entrepreneur

Donna Mae Montgomery always knew she was talented. She wrote her first poem at age eight and has studied and created art ever since. She’s experimented with photography, ceramics, sculpture and painting. But her best-known work has been in collage; some of the pieces she developed as a member of the Xerox-Mail and Rubber Stamp Artist movements of the 1970s are now in New York’s Whitney Museum. Despite this rich background, it was only recently that Donna Mae found a way of using her talents to become an entrepreneur. An idea for a small business was born several years ago during a visit to a museum book store where she noticed a pin made of shrink-it plastic.
