Olga G. Cohen founded her company in 1984. Olga G. Marcus Cosmetics Inc. manufactures selected pigmented products including all cosmetics except pressed powders and nail enamels. The firm received an SBA 504 loan in 1997 to purchase a 30,000 square foot industrial building to assist them in the manufacture of creams and lotions, lipstick and mascara as well as the addition of proprietary products and a company retail store. The firm has grown from an employer of seven in 1984 to an employer of 58 in 1997 with plans to add an additional 18 employees to the payroll within two years. The company derives 20% of its sales from exports which has increased its market position. Addition of its own facility had a positive impact on the economy as it brought in new non-defense related jobs.
