Zoning Regulations.
It is important to research your city’s zoning regulations. Certain areas within your city may have zoning restrictions which prohibit a small business owner from operating out of his or her home. If you violate these restrictions, you could be fined, shut down, or both.
What sort of services or products might your clients desire that you do not offer, or do not do well? That question will determine the direction of any alliances you might form, as you consider what sort of businesses you could logically align with. An alliance should allow you to concentrate on what you do best, and bring added value to your customers through the services or products of your partner.
